Services
During the pandemic we hold 2 services each week on Zoom: Wednesdays at 10 am – Morning Prayer Sundays at 9 am – Morning Prayer on 3 Sundays each month Holy Communion on one Sunday each month Private Holy Communion is available in the church on Sundays, 10-11:30 am. Prior to the pandemic, we held Holy communion on Wednesdays and 3 weekend services:
5:00 PM Holy Eucharist Rite II The 5:00 PM Saturday Holy Eucharist is an informal service following Rite II of the Book of Common Prayer conducted by the priest without music. We gather at the altar, and we share reading of the Scripture and distribution of Holy Communion.
8:00 AM Holy Eucharist Rite I The 8:00 AM Sunday Eucharist is a spoken service using Rite I of the Book of Common Prayer, conducted by the priest, with the assistance of a Lay Eucharistic Minister and Lectors. Rite I uses traditional, more formal language, addressing God using the pronouns thee, thy and thou. 10:00 AM Holy Eucharist Rite II At the 10:00 AM Sunday Holy Eucharist, the choir joins the priest, Lay Eucharistic Minister and Acolytes in leading the service following Rite II of the Book of Common Prayer. The congregation and choir sing service music and hymns and on most Sunday the choir sings one or two anthems. The children taking part in the Christian Education Program join the congregation for before Holy Communion to share their Lesson of the Day and lead us in a prayer. Rite II uses more modern, less formal language, addressing God using the pronouns you and your.
