Last year’s Lenten project was the Heifer project, and as we were unable to see it to completion, we are continuing with it this year. If you still have your mite box from last year, you can use it. If you do not have a mite box, you can use anything – a small box, a yogurt container, or other small container to put coins in during Lent. Many of you may know the Heifer project as the organization that provides animals to people to help provide food and income. Heifer also provides more, such as seeds and education on farming. Families are able to provide food for their family and an income, for example if a they receive baby chicks, they will learn how to raise them, will have eggs for their family to eat, can sell the eggs they do not need, and have fertilizer to help with growing crops (another source of food for the family and income for what they sell). Heifer’s goal is not only to end hunger, but to also end poverty. Heifer works in many countries around the world, including the U.S. Tune in next week to find out more about Heifer. Thank you!
