A Meditation for the Second Sunday in Lent Click here. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. [Psalm 51:10] Mystery of Goodness, by whose gaze we are called into being and held in life: teach us the secrecy of prayer which seeks no reward; the generosity of love which forgets itself; the gift of a treasure uncountable and unconsumed; through Jesus Christ, the Son of the Wilderness. -from Prayers for an Inclusive Church February 28th - The Second Sunday in Lent Morning Prayer on Zoom @ 9 am The Rev. Last year’s Lenten project was the Heifer project, and as we were unable to see it to completion, we are continuing with it this year. If you still have your mite box from last year, you can use it. If you do not have a mite box, you can use anything – a small box, a yogurt container, or other small container to put coins in during Lent. Many of you may know the Heifer project as the organization that provides animals to people to help provide food and income. Heifer also provides more, such as seeds and education on farming. Families are able to provide food for their family and an income, for example if a they receive baby chicks, they will learn how to raise them, will have eggs for their family to eat, can sell the eggs they do not need, and have fertilizer to help with growing crops (another source of food for the family and income for what they sell). Heifer’s goal is not only to end hunger, but to also end poverty. Heifer works in many countries around the world, including the U.S. Tune in next week to find out more about Heifer. Thank you!
