A Prayer for the Beginning of New Ministry
God of Love,
You are with us in every transition and change.
As we enter into this new era with hope and trust in your Spirit
we recall your deep compassion, presence, and abounding love.
We thank you for the gifts, talents and skills with which you have blessed us.
We thank you for the experiences that have brought us to this moment.
We thank you for the work of others that gives breadth and depth to our own work.
Be with us as we move forward, rejoicing with you and supporting one another.
We ask this in your Holy Name. Amen.

Thank you from Mother Judith
How wonderful it was to celebrate our ministry together by sharing what we have missed most during the past 16 months – singing hymns and listening to music from different traditions performed beautifully, sharing Holy Communion, and  enjoying a grand coffee hour in Murray Hall.  I think all of us felt “Trinity is back!” even while we knew how much this year has changed us.

It truly has been a blessing to share this year with you, and I have only two regrets:  That I did not say “thank you” often enough and that I did not get to know more of you.  But I also know that the bonds we formed during this year, closely or at a distance, will continue to shape each of us.

Thank you for the generous gifts that you presented to me. I was truly surprised!  Beyond the surprise, it meant so much to me that you took such care in choosing these particular “adventures”:  How could you know that I support UNICEF as often as I can?  How could you know that the Worcester Ecotarium and Southwick Zoo are two of my grandchildren’s favorite places, or that we have talked about visiting the Dr. Seuss Museum?  How could you know that I have been meaning to visit the Worcester Art Museum and the Tower Hill Botanical Gardens now that my schedule will be more flexible?  I had no idea that your leaders knew me so well.  I shall enjoy these adventures, made all the more meaningful by knowing that you will be my companions in Spirit.

A Prayer for the Journey
by Becca Stevens
God, set me on the path again.
Turn me to the rising sun when I need to be inspired.
Turn me to wilderness when I need to be lost.

Then turn me toward the sunset when I need rest.  Amen

Thank you to our July 17th Cleaning Party

Vacation Bible Camp: Dining in the Kingdom of God
“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”                            1 Corinthians 10:31
When: August 2-5 from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for campers. From 2-5:30 p.m. for helpers and leaders
Where: United Parish in Upton or ONLINE in your own kitchen.
Who: Trinity, United Parish of Upton, and St. Matthew’s Episcopal in Worcester want to gather ‘round the table with YOU—campers (grades K-6), helpers (grades 6-8), and leaders (adults of all ages!).
What: We’re going to have fun and learn about God through sharing food and embracing the gift of hospitality by learning cooking skills! Each day will end with a blessing from one of our pastors for the meal we’ll share with those at home.
Why:  Sharing food never comes with the question, “Why?” We know that our faith in God and our neighbor love increases when we share food, and all ages can learn how to give and receive hospitality. This program is also designed to help us process some of the things we’ve been through in 2020 and 2021, with hope that comes from God-stories.   This time has really taught us how to be geographically unbound, and we’ve become friends and partners in ministry with these other congregations. We’re glad to be making new friends!
How:  Campers, helpers, and leaders use the same registration form. If you (adult 18+) don‘t have a background check or CORI on file and want to lead at camp, please reach out to unitedparishoffice@yahoo.com and request one. We’d love to see you!

Cleaning Day at the Church
Saturday July 17th  8 a.m. - 11 a.m.

We missed our opportunity to prepare the sanctuary for Easter this year, and part of our preparation for new ministry is to clear out and re-organize our storage areas.  So we are asking everyone to participate for the morning or for an hour to prepare our sanctuary for the Sacrament of Holy Baptism on Sunday or to work in the parish building organizing and sorting our storage rooms.  Together we will dust, polish, shine, and organize.  Please contact Mary-Ellen Yaroshefski or Beth Moeller to learn how you can help.

Upcoming Events
July 18th:  We welcome Madison Claire Jones in Holy Baptism
July 25th:  Mother Judith's Last Sunday
August 8th:  Fr. John Lein's First Sunday at Trinity

God, source of all freedom, this day is bright with the memory of those who declared that life and liberty are your gift to every human being. Help us to continue a good work begun long ago. Make our vision clear and our will strong: that only in human solidarity will we find liberty, and justice only in the honor that belongs to every life on earth. Turn our hearts toward the family of nations: to understand the ways of others, to offer friendship, and to find safety only in the common good of all. We ask this through Christ our Savior.  Amen.
