The Psalms for the coming week will be Wisdom Psalms. These describe a way of living that ensures social peace and stability grounded in a righteous relationship with God. These are the psalms for this week: 1, 19, 37, 112, 121, 139 Heifer International: For a calendar of giving, click here. We've mentioned baby chicks and their benefits as one of the animals that Heifer provides to people to help provide food and income. Another animal, or rather an insect, they provide are honey bees. Heifer provides bees, a hive, box and training on raising and keeping bees. The benefits? The bees provide honey, wax and pollen which families can sell to provide an income, they can also use the honey and wax themselves. Additional benefits? The global honey bee population overall is increased, which helps the environment. Most importantly honey bees help with pollination, which can boost fruit and vegetable crops, which in turn provides more food for people. Heifer notes that sometimes it is the smallest gift that makes the largest impact. Next time you see a honey bee outside, consider all that it can do!
